Find out more from Abhinav, as he highlights what makes ArcelorMittal a good choice for professionals who are keen to make a difference.

“Two years ago, when presented with the opportunity to choose where to work, ArcelorMittal's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting a safer environment immediately resonated with me. I believe the steel industry plays a crucial role in our world. Steel is almost fully recyclable. However, it also significantly contributes to global CO2 emissions. In this era where sustainability is extremely important, I wanted to be part of a company that is not only an industry leader but also a pioneer in cutting-edge decarbonisation technologies. ArcelorMittal was the perfect choice for me to make a meaningful impact on our planet's future.

Typically, finance professionals are associated solely with numbers and accounting, but finance serves as the “lifeline” of a company, influencing crucial business decisions. Accurate reporting, transparency, and quantifying the impact of initiatives are essential in providing stakeholders and decision-makers with a clear understanding of the company's actions. Recognising that my skills as a finance professional could actively contribute to our global initiatives also motivated my decision to join this company.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is collaborating with various teams across our organisation. We work on the consolidation of numerous entities in the group, across all segments and regions, and engage with teams from different geographies on a wide range of topics. This includes interactions with performance management, taxation, and technology teams internally, as well as with external parties such as auditors and consultants. This not only enhances my understanding of our business as a whole but also fosters a culture of open communication and continuous learning within our team. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities for growth as I address accounting queries from different business units. Collaboration is vital in executing global projects effectively.

I believe that the flexibility and inclusivity of ArcelorMittal’s workplace culture is one of its greatest strengths. I have the freedom to plan my schedule in advance and my managers foster a collaborative environment where team members, regardless of geographic location, readily assist one another. This culture motivates us to meet deadlines while respecting each other's boundaries, creating a work environment that is both productive and fulfilling. This is rare to find in most workplaces, and it makes ArcelorMittal really stand out as a great place to work and grow.”
