ResponsibleSteel™ certification and continuous improvement at ArcelorMittal Luxembourg

In 2021, ArcelorMittal Belval and Differdange, Luxembourg underwent its initial successful ResponsibleSteel™ certification audit.

As part of the continuous improvement process, several areas for improvement were identified, including alignment with local stakeholder expectations and environmental risks. A phased approach to addressing the findings was put in place, and embedded into site management practices.

Subsequent surveillance audits and the recertification audit by ResponsibleSteel™ provided opportunities to review progress, assess the effectiveness of measures taken, and identify further enhancements where needed. Through this iterative audit cycle, the ResponsibleSteel™ framework has supported the strengthening of stakeholder engagement and environmental stewardship across our operations in Luxembourg. A more structured approach was established with clear baselines and action plans for priority areas.

These plans are reviewed periodically and adjusted as needed to reflect evolving conditions and stakeholder expectations.
